NEW CONSTRUCTION:
Our most durable solution
After confirming that the sub-base material is suitable, we fine grade and compact it to ensure the correct pitch. Next, we install a 2-inch layer of 3/4-inch clean stone, which serves as the base layer for the new surface. This is followed by an application of hot liquid asphalt, topped with a 1/2-inch or 3/8-inch layer of clean stone.
We then apply a second coat of hot liquid asphalt, followed by a final layer of stone. The customer can select the ‘finish stone’ to complement the surrounding property’s appearance. Finally, the surfaces are compacted into a durable, finished product.
SINGLE CHIP:
Choose chip seal to refresh an existing chip stone surface or to protect your investment by applying a protective armor coat over new asphalt.
A single chip seal is ideal for extending the lifespan of your current pavement. During installation, we begin by applying an even coat of liquid asphalt using a specialized distributor on the prepared surface. This is followed by a precise application of fine or coarse aggregates—typically 1/4″ or 3/8″ chip stone—based on your specific needs.
Our stone spreader and asphalt distributors are computer-controlled, ensuring a consistent, uniform application from edge to edge at an exact rate. After the liquid asphalt and stone are applied, we use a pneumatic-tired roller to evenly embed the stone into the asphalt emulsion, delivering a smooth, durable finish.
DOUBLE CHIP ARMOR COAT:
A great solution for applying an armor coat to aging asphalt or gravel surfaces.
For a double chip seal, we begin by spraying liquid asphalt emulsion onto the surface using an asphalt distributor, followed by spreading 3/8″ stone into the liquid asphalt. A steel drum roller is then used to press the 3/8″ stones flat into the asphalt, preparing the surface for a final layer of oil and stone.
Next, we apply another coat of asphalt and spread a smaller 1/4″ stone into the fresh liquid asphalt. The driveway is then rolled with a rubber-tired roller, embedding the smaller stones into the gaps of the 3/8″ layer to create a smooth, durable finish. Using a combination of 3/8″ and 1/4″ stones prevents the rough texture often associated with traditional chip seal surfaces.
